U.S. Media Distorted on Cuba: In an article in The Progressive, author Aviva Chomsky describes how the U.S. media routinely holds Cuba to a different standard that other nations in the region, and routinely misrepresents what is actually happening in Cuba. U.S. media, for example, focuses on poverty in Cuba, blaming it on ‘Dictatorship’ and ‘Communism,’ whereas poverty in nearby Haiti or Puerto Rico is not blamed on ‘Democracy’ and ‘Capitalism,’ but rather other, more complex causes.
